Benjamin de Charmoy has had a successful year so far, sending four problems in the 8A+/8B region. "Armed Response" and "The Arch" in Rocklands, along with "The Pursuit of Happiness" and (this past weekend) "Groundswell" in Cape Town.

Naude sends Witness the Sickness

14 year old Cape Town local, David Naude, sent the Rocklands classic "Witness the Sickness" 8A. Check out the clip below.

Toselli sends Black Hawk Down

Rowan Toselli sent the Cinema classic "Black Hawk Down" 8A+. Rowan came close to sending numerous times earlier this year, but had to wait 8 months for the area to re-open after the fires that ravaged all of Topside in early March.

Maluti

While making the long drive from Mozambique back to Cape Town, Maciek Fijalkowski and Marijus Šmigelskis came across a boulder strewn mountain not far from the Lesotho border. After exploring the potential they tipped Edvinas Šmigelskis and visiting Austrian Chris Baum off to the area and development began. Marijus returned a while later, rallying Clinton Martinengo and JHB climbers Evan Margetts, Josh McNally and Tim Slab, to establish many future classics featured in the clip below.


The area is approximately 3 hours from both Johannesburg and Durban, and will be an excellent addition for climbers from both regions.

Julia Chen had a good season in Rocklands sending "Teatime" 7C, "Stalker on the Horizon" 7C and "Caroline" 7C+.

Toselli finds Happiness

Sánchez in Rocklands

Nacho Sánchez had a solid season this year in Rocklands, making repeats of "Monkey Wedding" 8C, "Amandla" 8B+, and "Gogoan" 8B+, among other hard lines.

The Seamstress FA

Clinton Martinengo has made the first ascent of his latest project in Oorlogs Kloof in Montagu, "The Seamstress" 34.

UPDATED: Livin' Large 2nd ascent

Jimmy Webb has made the 2nd ascent of "Livin' Large" 8C in Rocklands after 10 days of effort this season.

Warren's 30 before 30

WCBL 2015 Final Results

Below are the final results for the WCBL 2015 season. Top 5 from each category qualify for the national finals to be held at CityRock on 11-12 April.

WCBL 2015 Round 1 Results

This year's Boulder League kicked off at UCT last Tuesday. Psyche was high and competitors were determined to send. Benjamin de Charmoy came in at first place in the Men's Open completing 14 out of 15 problems and Julia Chen secured a first in the Ladies' Open category. The next round will be held at UCT on Tuesday 10 Feb at 6pm. All welcome!
